Today is a day to contemplate what we have lost. After all, it is a day of Grief, Loss, and Sadness. We are here to learn to touch our depth willingly and with great compassion for ourselves and all those around us.

Today is a day to think past your own self and out into the history and truth of great and brave souls who dared to follow their hearts and dreams but were often imprisoned, killed, or shunned by a society that refused to allow equality for women, artists, and those that were different.

One cannot become a great artist by fitting in. Great art comes from rebellion and cultivating the inner fire and willingness to show truth through their chosen art form. Artists do not fit in. They are designed to stand out.

Today, my soul chooses to reach out with my heart and soul to those who paved a pathway through the hate and denial of this reality and found a way to somehow still express their great talents … even if those abilities were cut short or silenced by those that fear anything different.

Make a decision today to stop putting your own great talents into the internal prisons of your genetics, your society, or those that simply cannot see beauty when it appears different.

Make a decision and a vow to see the beauty in new things and experiences. Make a decision to take risks rather than to stay safe and stuck.

Within each soul is something special seeking expression in this world.

If you let it out, some part of you will find completion and satisfaction. It you keep it locked in that prison that is guarded by the perceptions of others … you will be forever sad.
