Poem – I Can Love You …

I can love you and not like your choices.

I can love you and know that your actions
and words come from fear and attachment.

I can love you and know that your biases
are toxic to yourself and all those you love.

I can love you and simply point out a path that
might bring you out of chaos and into calm.

I can love you but know that you are
not really open to what will honor your light.

I can love you and step back,
allowing you to find your own path.

I can love you and forgive that you cannot see
how your words reflect so much
hate and anger inside your heart.

I can love you and recognize that
not buying into your patterns is the
greatest form of love that I can offer.

Because I can love you and not need to be right.
I can love you and know that you are trapped
in the suffering of your own karma
and cannot find the way out.

I can love you and trust that this
distorted path that your mind created
is what your soul needs to shatter the illusions
of your mind and eventually come back to balance.

I can love you enough to let you find your way out
of the swamps of ego, even as you unknowingly
put yourself in greater danger.

Some people need to have
common sense shaken into them.

But most people need to have
love and hope walk with them.

They need those with them
to be a quiet reminder
when they look into your eyes
that they are loved
and they can find the path.

Even when they are walking
the wrong way.
