Poem – June Boom

In northern California we have a thing called June Gloom.
But this year, it felt more like June Boom
That was because I had so many things to do.
Many people to see and many things in the queue.

But it is a fun thing when the summer springs forth.
All the way up to the celebrations of July 4th.
My garden is beautiful, and the house is clean.
The land is in many hues of brilliant green.

I know that eventually it will slow down.
And eventually life will suddenly feel like a ghost town.
Until then I keep the cooking on the stove.
And remember that friendships are a treasure trove.
