Suzanne Wagner Poem – Life Is A Walnut

Tomorrow it will get easier and perhaps it will.
But today I look out bent over my windowsill.
There are moments when it seems nothing is ever enough.
And there are those who think you are a powder puff.

But inside we know how very hard we try.
We wake up each day and marvel at the blue sky.
We never think, today I am going to screw up.
We do not think that day will not fill my cup.

And because of that I remind you of how good you are.
This life has been rough and yet it has taken you far.
While today may not always make the cut.
Remember that life is really like a walnut.

Inside it is soft and tangy sweet.
But on the outside, it does not look like something to eat.
And trying to open that darn shell.
Can feel at moments like a living hell.
