Poem – Respect

Respect lives in the quiet places in our heart.
Its silence is how it shows that respect and honor.

Respect is not loud and obnoxious.
It is reverent and allows another to shine as brightly as possible.

Respect is shown when eyes meet over distance and silently … yet softly bow to the other.
Then with a smile (that says everything), one gently turns and gives that special moment fully to another.

I love those moments that stun us so deeply that we cannot move.

In fact, we almost can’t breathe.

We want to linger in that moment to bear witness to something great.
We want to capture the vision, the feeling, and the expression of something that touches us so deeply that time has become sacred.
