Poem – The Phoenix in my Soul
I am my own witness as I entered willingly the fires.
I took those steps to transform fears into desires.
The voices of hate that are inflamed in my direction.
Have no effect because of this lifelong dissection.
I fear not the fires that linger in your soul.
They will consume you if you have the courage to be bold.
You do not see that your hate will burn you to ash.
You do not see that your words will break your neck with a whiplash.
I see and own the phoenix in my soul.
I know that burning my ego was her primary goal.
She looks out with sadness to those that fester in their hate.
She knows that such a path will not lead them to her unique gate.
