Poem – The Snow

I looked outside as it began to snow.
And once again, I realized how much I still did not know.
Life is a conundrum that is complex and confusing.
But the game is to keep all that chaos amusing.

But while the snow softly filtered, lightly down.
I can relax and let the fears inside ground.

We cannot help others if we are in too much pain.
We cannot create change if we are only focused on what we can gain.

We are in a place where selfishness is an illness to cure.
It causes such a stink and spreads manure.
I wish to see the early flowers pop through the snow.
The daffodils came out because the sun told them to go.

But in this world of climate change.
Many plants and animals keep trying to rearrange.

Because survival depends on flexibility and flow.
Even when it seems too warm for it to again … snow.
