Poem – Vulnerability is the Path

Vulnerability is the path that most do not know how to take.
It takes great courage to let go of the ego and pass through its gate.

Why is it that we do not say what we so deeply feel?
Is it because others might use it against us with zeal?

I have learned that appreciating others for the gifts they share.
Is the best way to climb up to the higher lair.

We fear expressing what is deep inside.
We hold so much that we believe we should hide.

But the world would heal more if we shared the good that touches our lives.
Others need to know what has made not just a difference but given us a great surprise.

Each soul is a gift to others when they follow their heart.
It is important to not worry and just let life become art.

Paint the world with your kindness and care.
Mold the emotions of others into something to declare.

Hold out a hand and give when others are down.
Let out the laughter and let yourself sometimes be a clown.

Life will pass by in the blink of an eye.
Best to not wait and enjoy that blue sky.

Storms will eventually come, and the darkness will return.
But it will be the memories of the good times that will help you discern.

Live a life with no regrets.
Let yourself dance and twirl those pirouettes.

Before you know it … death will take your hand.
And I hope you will know who you are and where you really stand.
