Poem – Freedom is a Room with a View

 

 

Inside each of us, a hero resides,

A champion of freedom, where truth abides.

A flame still burns bright, from an ancestral fire,

Reminding us of those who dared aspire.

 

Against tyranny’s grip, they took a stand,

Risking all to reach this promised land.

Beyond their birth, they yearned for more,

Seeking freedom’s embrace, sovereignty to explore.

 

In every soul, a hunger for justice dwells,

For ourselves and others, our hearts compel.

Dreams unfurl, woven in destiny’s thread,

To rise above the past, to surpass what’s been said.

 

As we celebrate the Fourth of July’s call,

Where do we stand? What do we enthrall?

Are we willing to rise for others’ rights,

Or merely seek solace when our own plight ignites?

 

Let us revel in this time of liberation’s cheer,

And delve into its essence, drawing near.

Discover the essence of this historic hour,

And share it with loved ones, like a radiant flower.

 

Through the tapestry of history, let us learn,

The lessons it imparts, the mistakes we discern.

For in its chapters, a doorway lies,

Leading us towards a future that’s wise.

 

So, on this occasion of freedom’s gleam,

Let your spirit soar, let your aspirations stream.

Stand tall and proud, with virtues true,

For within each of us, a hero tries to breakthrough.

 

Let’s champion justice, both near and afar,

Guided by the light of our ancestral star.

May we honor the past and the freedoms we pursue,

Because freedom is a room with a view.
