Poem – The Rain Cries as I am Leaving Besançon

Poem – The Rain Cries as I am Leaving Besançon

The rain is falling and the storm rolls in.

It asks us to wait while we go for something within.

The rain washes away the tears of time.

The storm reminds us that what is ahead is a climb.

The wetness of the storm will give us new life.

The intensity of this moment is trying to make things right.

The challenge is that I do not always know.

What I want … or where to go.

But if I am willing to love everything with grace.

That even if tears are rolling down my face.

I will learn to let all emotions flow.

Just like the storm that knows how to make life grow.

We need the storms in life to set the stage.

We need the sorrow to free us of our mind’s cage.

Even when we feel sad and alone.

There are those that will walk us each … home.

Some of us will embrace those sudden storms.

But too many will want to keep to the norms.

Normal today can be boring instead of alive.

And the storm calls to the adventure inside.

It reminds us that in a moment when the tears fall free.

We can learn to accept who we are and to just be.
