Poem – Those things that we think
Those things that we think … that we are.
Are not the memories that will carry us far.
When we die much has to be let go.
It is essential to let life continue to flow.
If those things still have life within.
We are to give them away for others to win.
Let them have the joy from the surprise.
Of learning new lessons and allowing compromise.
The stuff becomes an anchor that keeps us here.
And yet those things that we thought were so dear.
Were never the light that guided our way.
They were tools to explore and to find ways to say.
That we love another and remember them here.
That we carry those objects that others cared so dear.
But when we die it is the love that will guide the way.
And all the attachments clung too will only cause more dismay.
Learn to let go and allow those things to pass through.
That is how you will discover that what we thought we knew.
Was only a blink in the eye of God.
And as we let go the angels applaud.
Because it becomes time that we need to go back home.
Where we can regroup and taste a new honeycomb.
An energy that infuses us with the light to again learn.
And allow those next steps that a part of us so desperately yearns.
Listen closely and you will hear a call.
Let it gift you with the willingness to fall.
Past the old and into the new.
Towards a place that will allow a new perview.
