Quote – When We Value Lies Over Compassion

I watch talented souls
become lazy in righteous thoughts.
I watch them forget
that it is in being open
that authenticity is the most powerful.
I watch them believe
that they have all the answers
when such a thing is not possible
in this human form.
And I watch them cause
terrible suffering that they
refuse to see because they have
found how to justify their choices.
I watch as evil compels them to act,
luring them with games that the mind
can play but the heart knows are wrong.
When one values the lies of the mind
over the compassion of the heart,
one cuts away half of the soul
and is no longer on the path.
