Poem – Walking in Paris
In Paris, I walked with open eyes,
Leaving behind my camera’s cries.
No concern for capturing each frame,
But rather, for the sensations that I could claim.
Through the streets, I wandered, free,
Absorbing the city’s grandiosity.
No worry for the perfect angle or pose,
Instead, I let my senses to follow my nose.
I gazed at the architecture standing tall,
Marveling at the many stories they could recall.
The Louvre’s intricate beauty unfolded,
And Notre Dame’s grandeur being remolded.
Through the Tuileries, I strolled with delight,
Embracing the serenity plainly in my sight.
No lens could capture the whispers in the air,
Or the gentle embrace of nature’s affair.
With the people of Paris, it was a vibrant blend,
Welcoming souls with no reprimand.
Their laughter and chatter, was a playful tune,
A mosaic of cultures that that together swoon.
In this city, I felt the embrace of education,
The reverence for knowledge, an essential foundation.
Artistic treasures breathed lined each street,
They’re creativity an anthem, a rhythm so ancient and sweet.
Safety enveloped me like a comforting shroud,
A sanctuary where peace was permitted and allowed.
A tapestry of fairness, a just-minded grace,
Paris embraced diversity and embraced every face.
For I walked through Paris without a filtered lens,
Seeking not just sights but reconnecting with friends.
I felt the soul of Paris, its pulse, its beating heart,
It forever shows its essence, an eternal work of art.
So let the photos remain mere fragments in my mind,
For other lives lived in Paris, a remembered sublime.
With every step, I remembered this ancient soul,
A city where openness and enlightenment console.
In Paris, I walked, eyes wide open and aware,
Immersed in its magic, a city beyond compare.
For in the absence of a lens, I truly found,
A richer, deeper love for this enchanted ground.
