Weekly Astrology for May 4-10, 2025

A quick reminder that I will be on a trip up the coast to the Olympic Peninsula for the next two weeks and as we are camping and in remote areas, I may not be able to do the daily numerology and astrology. I will do my best to get the weekly out so that everyone has something to refer back to. Thank you for understanding. I think a break is in order and having time in nature is a rejuvenating priority for me at this time.

This is a week that we have a doorway to seek our vulnerability and new ways to empower ourselves. Between the Pluto moving into retrograde in Aquarius, movement of Mercury moving into Taurus, and a Chiron conjunction with Mercury, what we need is time. Time to be with ourselves. Time to move our current patterns of concern out of fear and into a more powerful place of overview that we hope to materialize into wisdom.

May 4th, Pluto moves into retrograde in Aquarius

Pluto appears still in the sky, signaling the beginning of its retrograde motion for the next many months. This complex intensity is going to continue through the 13th of October. We may notice that confusion heightens, and it can feel as if in our reality, certain negative types of power are out of control, and something needs to be done.

What will become obvious are the self-destructive tendencies of a few are going to continue to put more and more pressure on all of us. Pluto retrograde can be a time when we are asked to address the hardest questions around what used to be our identity and to honestly see what that has now become.

Pluto is a planet of fate, karma, and destiny. If you intentionally turned a blind eye to the lessons being presented, karma can come hard and fast.

If you are mentally playing a game with the universe, trying to manipulate circumstances to fit your ideals, fate will snip a few of the threads in your life so you learn that you are not in charge of the rules of this reality.

If you embrace the lesson, see what is true through the distortion and make choices that align with your morals and your soul’s core value, then a doorway to your destiny awaits.

This Pluto retrograde intends to force all of us to confront the uncomfortable truths about the unprecedented manipulation of power. It is a time when we recognize that we must learn to work together because that is going to be the only way for healing to eventually happen.

This process is going to make us shift many things, our attitude being high on the list. This is a time when we are asked to look at the toxicity of our own biases. Clearly, we are going to have to expand our world view but for many that will take a lot of time.

While some intend to scream at the darkness. That will have no impact because anyone that holds darkness inside and has allowed that darkness to fester and take over, cannot hear any form of truth.

This retrograde is really about planning and plotting for a better future. One that is more inclusive. Power struggles become more obvious and know that those under pressure are not going quietly into the oblivion. Many things are being shaken and as those rugs are being pulled out, we are going to discover how many rats have been hiding under them and eating away at the abundance of our society.

Pluto retrograde loves for mankind to come back to a state of responsibility. It is only in this way that we can find another path to make things right. Our leaders have blown up the bridges and so there is no going back. The only way out of the mess is to take accountability and recognize that when the majority suffer … while only a few win … it massively creates more instability and conflict.

There are astrologers that will mistakenly say that a Pluto retrograde is not necessarily challenging but a time for us to see past the issues and begin to plan. I would beg to differ. We are beginning a massive unraveling of our society and our stability. And while that is necessary for us to change and force those that made terrible choices to see the error of their ways, to do that … many are going to really suffer as the weight of those choices negatively impact them personally. It is the only way this level of denial can be broken.

We can’t avoid this process, and we have to deal with what is coming with open eyes and a willingness to deal with each moment as it arises. But make no mistake, it will not be easy or pleasant.

Just remember, all of us that are here … wanted to be here during this very interesting time. We wanted to be a part of building a new and more cohesive world. Perhaps many did not realize that to do such a massive thing, that destruction of the old world have to be pervasive and shocking to witness.

But often great things come from learning the hard lessons of such tumultuous times.

May 5th, Moon into Virgo
The Moon in Leo makes us want to come from the place of “What opens love?” If our world came from this place rather than the places of prejudice and fear, our world would be a much better place.

So here is our moment to practice. Look to what others need in that moment to feel more connected and loved. Then put your own agenda aside and move from that place of compassion instead.

Because later this afternoon that same Moon will move into Virgo, and it moves us to get those chores done and to figure out ways that allow for things to be smoother.

Mercury and Jupiter seem to support a more kind and resourceful way to move in our world and we can get a lot done as we see how to move with what is unfolding a bit better.

We are trying to move with things in life by looking at them with more overview and perspective. After all, to figure things out we also need to know how to learn from information being presented. This is a time to make clear and honest choices. It is not the time to have grandiose ideas. Keep things practical and know that what is in front of us is going to require us to have sound judgment and clear perspective.

Agreements are important and finalizing contracts will move us positively towards a better future.

May 6th, Neptune and the Sun semi-square, sextile with Venus and Pluto

If you feel off balance and out of sorts, you would not be wrong. The planet of illusion, Neptune is in a semi-square to the Sun and that can make us feel exhausted as if we are fighting something deep between our mind and our soul. Things can feel confusing. This is a day where we seem to not be able to pay close attention to what used to be so very important. It is time to step away from the old and embrace something different. This is a day to not fall into old patterns but to create new ones. We need to be recharged. Nature, writing, and books are great escapes at this time.

Venus and Pluto will sextile and then align with Mercury and Chiron. Old barriers need to be broken down. Insight comes from the glass house we were living in finally shattering. And we see that what is so very wrong at this time is the lack of empathy, compassion, and love for all life. This is a call to turn back towards love and turn away from fear, hate, anger, and the need to be right. We crave authentic expression, and we want to only deal with those that we trust are on that same path as us. It is time for the expression of our human side, our passionate side, and our physical nature to have the freedom to express themselves.

We may see a moment when we are asked to step into a more secure financial place and to put those we love as a priority.

All insights gained will come at a cost. And that will require us to learn much and heal even more.

We cannot grow if we are not open. We cannot learn to trust if we do not take risks. Currently the risks are great and the potential for a tremendous breakthrough is high.

It will just take … time.

May 7th, Mercury and Chiron will conjunct
Awareness is prize that requires a great effort and cost. That type of awareness only evolves when we are willing to have a courageous conversation with all parts of ourselves. We see what is clearly broken and we recognize that we will have to go through this type of pain in order to allow that suffering to break the hold of our ego. Only then will the mind and the heart learn to merge. We find courage when we can acknowledge our vulnerabilities. The medicine for suffering is to have compassion for ourselves. That becomes the balm that will heal us and allow us to embrace our past experiences and let those choices and failures inform our present circumstances.

May 8th, Moon moves into Libra
It feels as if there are so many mirrors reflecting back to us that we are feeling unsteady and as if we are lost in a circus’s hall of mirrors. Nothing is as it should be. Everything feels distorted. Those distortions make us question ourselves and we feel as if being well informed is something that is an impossibility. Shadows lurk everywhere and we fear what is around the next twisted crook in this life’s path. So much darkness is lurking below the surface, and we feel as if we are swimming in murky, deep waters that things from below keep bumping us. Those things are our unconscious patterns that we have avoided and not addressed.

With the Moon in Libra, we attempt to see the beauty, strength and authority that is inside us. We are tired of external powers having authority over us. We can see the imbalance and we are recognizing that no one is going to give us our power back willingly. We are going to have to use our entire essence to take our power back.

May 10th, Mercury moves into Taurus and the Moon goes into Scorpio
Mercury has a message. But how will that message be received? Words help us define our thoughts and explain our feelings so we can make sense out of living in this complicated emotional and mental world we have created. The Taurus energy will ground the minds of so many Mercurial thinkers and allow something more stable to evolve. The key is to keep things simple and uncomplicated. We long for a calm environment and a way to be in this world, of this world, and a hopeful salvation for this world.

This can become a sacred doorway if embraced properly. Perhaps write down an intention you have for this world and how you might fit into that pattern. Know that your loving presence is required and by embracing that as your focus you will find a healing for all this anxiety and fear.

What once was … no longer will be.
What we believed in … has been destroyed by those living in darkness.
What is left when all that used to be so solid and secure is no more?

This is a week to begin to explore those options and align with something much deeper within.
