Suzanne Wagner’s Poem – Remembering Maggie Wright Tesch
Dear Maggie. You were such a light.
You lived and breathed art with all your might.
You gracefully danced upon the stages of the world.
You laughed and cried, twirled and swirled.
You helped us remember that there is lightness within the dark.
You helped us learn how to embrace everything in life as art.
You lived a life of courage and care.
You lived on your own terms, and we could not help but admire and stare.
Too quickly you are gone from this place.
And now we feel the emptiness of your lost grace.
I know you are now free and no longer in pain.
And the heavens will now benefit and gain.
I am sure you will teach all the angels to dance.
But in moments I know you will smile upon us with a glance.
Lives that were shared in such an intimate way.
Hold magic and power that can forever sway.
You opened the hearts and minds of those open to beauty and light.
So, now you will forever twinkle in my mind with wonder and delight.
We will miss you, but I know we meet again.
Until then keep dancing to your magical refrain.
