This Week in Astrology –April 2-8, 2024

The focus this week is obviously the Solar Eclipse on April 8^th. But we feel eclipses before they come in. They begin to shift us with their tone and temperament. All eclipses are about trying to figure out what type of spectacle they are going to bring in and catapult into our reality.
This cycle began on April 20^th, 2023 because we started this series of the Aries-Libra axis. Needless-to-say, everything has been about the global obsession with War and Peace.
It if feels like we are in a Dostoyevsky novel, you would not be wrong. This drama is unlike anything any of us alive have witnessed in its rhetoric, chaos, distortion, and propagation of obvious lies. This terrible teetering has rocked us on many levels and while our assignment is to find better balance and to promote peace, I don’t believe humanity is doing such a great job at the moment.
But that is going to change because Solar Eclipses always bring surprises, and this one is crossing the United States of America! It will be interesting to see what type of course correction will be demanded of us. What this eclipse points out is the very narrow focus that many in our world have because of the blinders that they are wearing. Such limited focus is going to be torn away from their eyes and that shocking revelation is going to show us that we are running out of time to take advantage of certain essential opportunities.
Where there are weaknesses, we will now see in a shocking light the truth that has been denied.
Chiron is also sitting right on top of this eclipse and where we have been unwilling to grow up, is now going to show us our vulnerability in huge ways. Those that will not embrace challenges to gain wisdom will now be behind the eight ball and at a tremendous disadvantage. Trying to catch up may be impossible for some because of the speed at which we are now moving.
We are in the sign of Aries and the Moon, Sun, and Chiron are all lined up to take on all comers. This eclipse is going to show us where we have been in the dark because the dark will get pitch dark. That will cause us to want to reclaim the light in a new way and I expect this will cause us to discover scientific breakthroughs that will alter our course, or some global event will force us to drastically change and come together. But I do hope on a personal note that each person begins a course of action that will lead us to new insights of self-awareness where we have confidence to make a difference.
In the negative, this eclipse forces us to a major wake-up call. What is clear is that there is so much anger and hate in the world. Notice who or what is generating it and why? When people are desperate, they are rarely clear. When people are living in fear for their lives, they are trying to survive … not negotiate.
I expect those on the edges of wanting violence will snap and make this year one to force us to do something different.
We have to be aware of those that intend to take out people that are promoting peace. And yes, I mean intentionally targeting those that try to do good in the world and do what is right.
The last time we had this cycle of Aries eclipses, and the North Node being in the middle of it, we had the assassination of both great civil rights leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and Bobby Kennedy. They too were fighting against racism and poverty. So, notice the similarity and keep your eyes alert to those people just off enough to do something horrific.
This is going to be a time that is highly combustible with all the fiery retort of Aries. I expect weapons to be a subject that keeps being put on the tables of war. While I do not think that we are leaning towards total destruction, the level of volatility in politics and global warming is going to shock everyone.
This cycle this year will make AI explode but that might be a good thing. What is clear is that technology is going to be pushing all of us forward in ways that will make sense only much later.
What is clear is that for the next 6 months, picking fights is not advisable. It is best to learn how to de-escalate problems and to learn to walk away rather than try to make a point to someone with a violent energy and a closed mind.
We are being asked to use our mind in ways that have initiative and that matter. We are being asked to try new ways and means to get to goals. We are being asked to step on our own path.
Regardless of who you are or why you believe you are here; this eclipse is going to ask you to act. You may not see what is coming but I guarantee that it will cause all of us to make a radical shift in our perception and direction.
What I appreciate about this eclipse is that the truths that have been buried will explode into the light of day and become unstoppable. What is clear is that situations that are old and outmoded will be forcefully swept away.
