Poem – Nature Demands For Us To Listen
Walk softly upon the earth as she whispers her distress.
This is that moment when we must reflect and access.
What the path should be … moving ahead.
How to get the world to listen to what she has said.
Earth warned us a very long time ago.
And now to shift … some demand that we go slow.
Slow would have been to start a hundred years before.
But now slow will not work, the storms would only continue to roar.
I see a moment when we will learn a huge lesson.
Nature is not to be our delicatessen.
She is to be respected and honored as our Mother Earth.
And today, I am grateful for the warm fire and hearth.
While I listen as she tells me her sorrow and rage.
I know that nothing in my power will managed to upstage.
What she screams for us to pay attention to.
And what we need to do to survive through.
The chaos that we created because the fault is ours.
From too much greed and gas guzzling cars.
That have warmed this world to create more things unexpected and strong.
It is time to admit that our choices were very wrong.
