8 + 3 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 2 = 17.

Then we can add the 1 + 7 to get the number 8.

The number 8 asks us to look at the potential undercurrents that struggle deep within our core. Such feelings often come from the desire to be seen and loved by others.

Sadness (the number 8) can breed compassion when embraced and accepted. When we understand our own deep pain, that is how we learn to understand and feel into the pain of others. When we learn to care for ourselves … we can also learn to care for others.

Sadness often hides behind happy faces. But the eyes will always tell the tale that has unfolded and then buried deep within.

Tension is often those deeply denied emotions that are hidden … but still hurting.

Power can be an external manifestation of hurt that decided to find a way to protect itself through influence and money.

While such things seem to work in the external, the internal still exists.

That is why the way through is to not deny the suffering that has happened in this world but to learn about it … bravely and boldly.

When we understand the nature of something, we can learn to embrace and accept.
Things we do not understand seem to be out to get us and our ego then feels the need to protect and defend our position.

Defensive postures will always lead to battles, confrontation, and conflict. And those positions lead to someone getting hurt.
That is why education that is based on the truth (while painful at times), promotes the growth of compassionate understanding. And that allows a civilized society to grow in ways that promote sanity rather than bias and bigotry.

Astrology for Today

The Moon in Libra tries to bring more balance into our mind and lives. It is a day to be graceful and gracious. Pick words carefully and know that the skills of listening are paramount today.
Then this Moon squares to Venus and can become that itch that we feel we cannot scratch enough. Many things seem set to confuse us and cause more conflict. We may want to lean towards those that we can count on because we need others to stabilize so many things that feel uncertain.

Often, doing the right thing is challenging.
Today is feeling like that day.
But the Moon will trine to Saturn and that attempts to bring a grounding element into the mix and make the practical seem more intentional and possible.

It seems that we are being asked to do more and that personal self-discipline is clearly essential to making headway in this strong wind.
Be logical and rational in our approach to the problems. It will help complete the tasks eventually.
