The Number 8 can be reminiscent and reflective of our past, the present, and what lies ahead.

There are periodic times of transition and change. We all learn to let the past … go. Mourn the shifts … as some things are released. Then embrace this new moment, celebrate that reemergence into this now, and look to the future that is still not yet in form.
What happens on our modern world is that we refuse to let the past go. When we don’t let the past go. Then those things that are dead … begin to rot and decompose. And we wonder why that thing is not like it was.
But it is dead!
The next step is to let the earth break it down, and to allow the components to become something else.

Our own inability to understand how essential it is to let all things eventually go, is at the root of bigger problems in our world.

Our science and technology show us that things we have done in the past are now unnecessary, such as coal plants, fuel burning cars, and plastics. But our inability to let things go and allow the changes because of our mind’s love to repeat what is familiar, and our terrible habits … causes our planet trauma and suffering.

Change is not always perfect. But in being willing to change … we work out the kinks that are not yet smooth. That will eventually get us to a more efficient place. Then everyone wins.

Today, notice your own habits and patterns that some part of you refuses to release and change. Know that today might be a good day to start a new trend. Give that old way … a metaphorical funeral and celebrate the life of that thing and embrace a new way to become better. The future is ours to hold in our hand but first we must learn to drop the baggage and allow our hands to be free and open first.
