Real Art
Real art is not about having the ability to take an amazing snapshot.
Real artists can connect all aspects of their art into a flow that captivates, teaches, tells a story, and inspires for long period of time.
One can look at the painter’s way to illuminate and focus the light on a painting. One can be amazed at the detail of brush strokes and subtle shading that appears transparent. Such a soul makes us stop and stare, feeling the masters touch through their ability to allow us to finally use our eyes to really see our world.
One can read an author’s story and become so involved in the characters that are being generated and become so involved with their words that we begin to understand and feel as if we are a part of this amazing world that they have created, thus showing us reflections of ourselves. Their words give us insights into feelings and emotions that we struggle to express, and we learn through these characters how to free ourselves from our own traumas and challenges. They remind us that in our feelings and confusing moments that we are never alone.
Actors show us pathways through the upsets in life and give us courage and hope as they embark on the adventure’s quests that we are afraid to try. In following them through a film, we learn the power of courage, the determination of guile, we gather up strength to face our fears, and we begin to step more powerfully into our own lives because we want to become the hero in our own journey.
A musician moves our heart into such a huge space that we find that love and the expression of feelings that we have been missing. The music becomes so powerful that nothing else matters than how those sounds make us move, allow us to hope, and bring us to a place of peace. The musicians of the world give our pain and sorrow depth and strength. They show us that we are beautiful even in our suffering. They remind us of the goodness that is right there, when we decide to let others see into our heart.
Dancers show us that all emotions are doorways to spirit. Dancers show us that when we allow life to move completely through our bodies … that we become a magnet for the light and we become a sacred prayer to the divine through the blending of the body, with the emotions, and that in turn allows our spirit to finally have the energy that it needs to transcend this reality. Dancers show us that our yearning attracts more light. Dancers encourage our willingness to become all that we are in a moment. They show us that movement can be a doorway into sacred places that defy linear time, reconnect us to what really matters, and remind us that we can … fly.
