Suzanne Wagner Poem – The Dragon of Fate

Suzanne Wagner Poem – The Dragon of Fate

I saw the dragon flying high in the sky.
I saw it focus with its great eye.
Upon those that have lied their way.
Into positions only to cause more dismay.

The Dragon circled and I saw smoke curl in the sky.
She had quite enough of all mankind’s lies.

She swirled a storm into being.
She was serious and not sightseeing.

Then she turned sharply and plummeted down.
Silent as an owl without any sound.
She had her eye on a fat, juicy prize.
And what she had was the element of surprise.

Those that believe that they had the power and the reins.
Suddenly sensed that all their gains.

We’re going to be consumed in her flagrant fire.
Nothing they could say would sway her ire.

They tried to run but they could not hide.
She knew where they lived deep inside.
And that is when she unleashed her flames.
She did not wait to listen to their claims.

She is ancient and very old.
She has no time for games that scold.
She had decided that their life was forfeit.
Because they cared for nothing other than profit.
