Quote – Truth Dislodges Distortion

Truth dislodges distortion.
It usurps dysfunction
that the ego uses as a shield
to protect itself from realizations
that choices have been incorrect
or without substance and merit.
Truth takes its time
and is never in a rush.
Lies are like the dead leaves in the fall.
They catch fire quickly and
spread without any control.
Telling oneself the truth,
helps us make the necessary corrections
that allow us to grow in integrity
and help us gain respect in ourselves.
Souls that cannot distinguish
the truth from the lie, eventually
loose discernment.
That is how they lose respect
from others and themselves in
the process,
