Poem – The Lessons of Life

 

The Lessons of Life are always there.

Just like that book that sits by that chair.

The wisdom one seeks is all around.

It is just that often impatience makes it hard to be found.

The truth we seek is not from our mind.

The truth we find is when our heart is kind.

The lessons come in, each and every day.

They lay on the floor and try to convey.

Their lessons that are needed for us to embrace.

But too often we rush past in our rat race.

Egos distract from what needs to be done.

Some will die never really enjoying the sun.

They think that what they do … is who they are.
But that will only carry one … so far.

There is so much of life that needs to be found.

In the silence when no one else is around.

That is where the distractions fall away.

And some will stop and look back in utter dismay.

Because they rushed past the joys and the magic.
And if we do not relish those moments, it will be truly tragic.
