Yesterday, the deck work continued, and I started out early because I wanted to make an apple cake with cream cheese frosting for the guys helping us with the deck.
I think it is always nice to offer something sweet when people are working so hard.
Honestly, this team has worked harder than any group I have met. It is astounding how focused and committed they are. No chit-chat. The energy is to get things done. Got to love Masculine Focus!
One of the guys helped me dig a big hole to plant a Bee Balm plant and I had to move dirt from a lower point of the land to this spot and then also bring great bags of dirt up with all the added emoluments.
He was very kind to dig a big hole in the ground. I had waited till it rained because the ground was softer.

They have half the deck done and the rest will be finished today. Then they will re-stain everything.
We won’t be able to walk on it for 24 hours or so.
I will be crawling through a window to get into my office. LOL! That ought to be fun!
My husband has fixed the hot tub and he managed to be one step ahead of the guys so he could finish before they were at his point for the deck.
And I have the screen in so the skunk cannot hang out under the deck near my office.

Amazing how it is all coming together after a lot of work. We needed “all hands-on deck.”
It is pretty astounding the processes of building.

Having never been around a lot of construction guys I have to say that they can figure lots of stuff out. It is impressive seeing how the masculine mind works organically.

So today, here’s to the men in the world and all those women who have a very strong masculine side!
I salute you all.
You are amazing.
This is not my skill set.
But I find it fascinating.
I am again grateful for the differences in humanity. We need all the types, styles, and variations.
No one can do it all anymore. There is just too much to learn in one lifetime.
