Suzanne’s Poem 12/24/2022 – Christmas Eve

Suzanne’s Personal Poem for 12/24/2022

Poem – Christmas Eve

It’s Christmas Eve and the mice have gotten inside.

They too want to get away from the cold outside.

I hear them chewing inside the walls.

But I cannot fault them for wanting to deck their own halls.

We share a world with other creatures on the land.

If Christmas wishes were fulfilled, we might finally understand.

That this is the season where it is harsh outside.
We celebrate … to remember … we are all together on this ride.

When we were in the darkest days of old.

We needed warmer hearts to get out of the cold.

Inside by the fire, we would share some warm ale.
We would tell long stories in great detail.

To share the wisdom learned from the past.

And to keep traditions alive and make love last.
