Poem – The Special Embers Of The Holidays

Poem – The Special Embers of the Holidays

December’s weather becomes a festive stage,

Where snow whispers tales, of another time and age.

Songs echo, a familiar jolly and merry hymn,

Wine glasses clink as they are filled to the brim.

December’s dreams unfurl like a warm cozy chair,

Soft sweaters are spun from dreams we share.

The hearth’s fires weave a flickering tether,

Candlelight imbues a spell in this wintry weather.

In the quest for companionship, we embark on trips,

The quest for family and friends blocks any apocalypse.

All the stores become a bustling bazaar,

Seeking the perfect gift becomes our North Star.

We look to a world where peace finally reins.

We remember souls who tried to break karmic chains.

We try to bring out our best selves.

We transform into Santa’s helping elves.

Holidays are a special ember that burns.

It reminds us that goodness always returns.

Allow the cold weather to make us stay by the fire.

Let the warm feelings turn passions into desire.

This holiday is not just about gifts.

It heralds a time of big shifts.

We learn to remember that love is our guide.

And that is how we put old conflicts aside.

Bring those to the feasts that are alone and sad.

Make them feel like a favored aunt, uncle, mom or dad.

Tis the season for all to find a place to belong.

Bring in laughter and sing those familiar songs.

Remember to take pictures and show them off.

This is a time to let go and cast off.

The old places that we need to forgive.

Such times give us a meaning to live.

Become the angel that opens hearts and minds.

Remember that all things come when one is kind.

We learn to approach each moment with open arms.

And allow what is good to weave magical charms.

December is a time when we shed our old skin.

We learn to move from a place where everyone wins.

So let the celebrations begin and bring good cheer.

Before we know it, we will be at the end of this year.
