February’s Charm

The light is crisp, and the air is clear.

February comes in with nothing to fear.

But in the hush, we feel something stir.

Icicles glisten and snow twirls like a danseur.

The frost kisses us with its icy hold.

The winds lash out brave and bold.

But by the fireplace hearts beat fast.

Entwining in loves passionate dance.

We are in the time where love is declared.

A time of ritual, repeated and well prepared.

The night becomes shorter as the days brighten.

We feel the longing for our hearts to lighten.

In the frosty air of a February day.

Love replaces loss and dismay.

This is a month to celebrate life.

And for a moment put aside the strife.
