Poem – Get Ready To Run

I am grateful for the lessons learned.
I am grateful to all those who let my ego burn.

I have learned so much and I am softer inside.
I have embraced this moment and refuse to hide.

People will say whatever they want.
But most inside are ghosts, starving and gaunt.

My life is a wonder that no one can take from me.
That is because in facing myself, I could finally be free.

People can only take from you those things you pretend to be.
They cannot take from you what they themselves cannot see.

Most people are blind. And from fear follow their chosen rules.
They refuse to embrace that it is life that owns all the schools.

Life taught me to listen and learn.
Life taught me that joy is earned.

Not because one must work to have it come our way.
But because the only way to find it is to embrace play.

Life inside my soul feels like twinkling lights.
Life inside feels like inhaling all of nature’s delights.

I will one day no longer be here.
But I hope my words inspire and bring you cheer.

Because I don’t want you to waste one precious word.
Remember that to enjoy life, one must be a bit absurd.

Go for those dreams as if time is very short.
Go for that leap that will put you center court.

Go for the happiness that wants to explode out into life.
And remember that even in every conflict and strife.

You are going to be better when you face what is yet to come.
So let your heart out and get ready to run.
