Poem – Letting Go Of Fear

Did you stop and look at where you have placed your faith?
If you choose wrong then your dreams will become a wraith.

I watch while certain young souls need to belong.
Their insecurity needs a group, so they never feel as if they were wrong.

But you did not pick to belong in a herd.
Humanity was meant to explore, wander, and be absurd.

Life is not about what is right and wrong.
Life is about discovering your own unique song.

To do that … one must be brave and bold.
To break away from the herd and not do what you are told.

I learned a long time ago that just because someone is grown up.
Does not mean that they have enough wisdom to fill a cup.

I learned that I would rather take the risk and go another way.
Then be trapped by another’s fears, opinions, or hearsay.

Learning to trust what is deep inside.
Is a powerful force greater than a landslide.

When it is released, a miracle is born.
You discover that you no longer care about another’s scorn.

There is freedom when one can let go of fear.
Besides, it is the only way to finally discover how to be fully here.
