Suzanne Wagner’s Poem – Making It Through

When up is down … and down is up.
It is difficult to not feel as if we are going to throw up.

The world is topsy turvy for obvious reasons.
Civilizations have cycles and we are so in a season.

A season where those that did not want to make a change.
Have now decided to make us all deranged.

While that does not seem to be fair.
It is a way to force us to care.

Many did not realize how they were living in a social system.
As everyone is part of a greater ecosystem.

And now they are feeling how much they will lose.
They are shocked and currently so very confused.

They will feel the consequences of the choices that were made.
Perhaps now they can see, how far from the truth they have strayed.

But there were many that required us to get on this train.
Even now they are trying to figure out who to blame.

History will again record the terrible choices of the uneducated few.
Now there is nothing to do but to try to make it through.
