Poem – The Coming New Year

The New Year is coming and January whispers on the icy winds.
Time to let many things go and forgive lots of sins.

Life will tend to show us not what we want but what we need to learn.
What is clear is that we are going to be taking a very big turn.

This world has a path that intends to teach us very much.
Some lessons will be hard while others will have a soft touch.

I sit in the glow of a holiday filled with many types of feasts.
Feasts of love, feasts of animals and many adorable beasts.

Did you do a good deed on this season of love and joy?
If not, you have still time to tip that delivery boy.

Many work hard so we can have a better flow.
It is important to allow their gifts to be honored and to let them know.

We each make a difference in our own large and small ways.
So, as the tide turns in these coming days.

Remember to be kind and to walk softly on this earth.
Be generous with what you have and never forget your own worth.
