Poem – To Those That Are Young

I looked into the eyes of those that are young.
Filled with good hope and longing to run.
They had such kind hearts that yearned to share.

They were filled with energy, with so much to spare.

I remember those days when I was just like them.
I smile and look back fondly and … I remember when.
As the storms came in, we had nothing but warmth inside.
Their youthful enthusiasm filled me with such pride.

I know this world will find its way,
When such good and kind souls come down to play.
They leave my heart in a place of good stead.
Knowing that with them, this world can get ahead.
