Poem – Are you the Raindrop or the River?
Are you the raindrop falling from the sky?
Or the river that rushes and never asks why?
The raindrop dances upon leaves, sparkling and free,
While the river carves its path with unyielding decree.
The raindrop finds solace in transient delight,
Briefly caressing petals, as it flows out of sight.
But the river, mighty and steadfast in its stride,
Carries life within its depths, a patient, eternal guide.
Do you live your life as a raindrop in flight?
Or as the river, flowing with purpose and might?
In moments, it’s enchanting to glide through the air,
Glistening in sunlight, weightless and rare.
Yet, there are whispers that stir deep within,
Awakening an ancient longing, a forgotten kin.
In moments when comfort beckons us near,
And courage eludes, filling us with fear,
Both paths reveal lessons, in their own unique way,
One may require departure, the other asks us to stay.
The raindrop, embracing change, is ever adrift,
The river, embraces stillness, thus finding its grit.
For it’s in the choices we make, day by day,
That we discover the essence of our own destined way.
So, let that water in your river rise?
Or perhaps, become the raindrop, seeking the skies.
Embrace the duality, let your spirit roam,
And find harmony in the ebb and flow of things uniquely your own.
