Poem – The Calls of Freedom Still Ring
Here’s to those days and simpler times.
Here’s to those moments where there were no crimes.
I celebrate an America that still lives on.
I know that she exists and will have another dawn.
One where the peace that was once our right.
Will return to us because it is ours despite.
Those that want to take our freedoms away.
Those that want to make everything go their way.
All times shift and change with the tides.
Problems arise when too many take sides.
We are all Americans and deserve what is fair.
To do that … then those that lie must be laid bare.
I hold the light of that possibility in my heart.
And know that before long there will be another start.
One that ignites the fires of freedom.
And lead us towards an expanding kingdom.
