Poem – The Journey We All Will Take

There is a journey that we all must take.
It matters not if we are asleep or awake.
It is the path that leads us all back home.
That place where our soul is free to roam.
But along that path tough choices need to be made.
And some will fear where the paths of decades
Will lead us towards that final door.
That one that none of us will be able to ignore.
The door of death is not the final scene.
It is the doorway to a place where we all convene.
A meeting place filled with light and love.
A place where loneliness is never thought of.
That is because those we love are all there.
Those that have always helped us up the earth stairs.
We are here to feel the separation of time and space.
We are here to walk this earth with so much grace.
We are here to leave something of ourselves behind.
You see that is how this world was designed.
It feeds us possibilities to help us grow.
It gives us options to find a new flow.
It shows us that our failures were not what they seemed.
It shows us that life can be amazing if we are willing to dream.
And when this body moves towards that final stair.
There is no reason to fear or fall into despair.
There is a pathway back to all we love.
But we only will need to then fly like a dove.
