Poem – The Hunger for Magic

Poem – The Hunger for Magic

The dancer in me is not hungry and she does not want to eat.
The chef in me responds and offers her a tasty treat.

Most of the time they work in tangent and everything seems to flow.
But what the dancer wants is a food that you cannot grow.

She longs for the tastes of an elixir that constantly flows.
The problem is that this spring move somewhere no one knows.

To taste this delicious essence of pure light.
One has to listen closely to those elements of flight.

Birds and the winds know where it can be found.
And she listens closely to be ready when it sounds.

She seeks to embody something that few will ever know.
She sees in so many that the light has ceased to glow.

She knows they are starving for something forgotten in the realms of time.
She knows that they gave up when money did not the bell chime.

This type of energy costs more than what most know to give.
And those that seek its refreshment often want take and never forgive.

This energy is special because it is awake and alive.
It does not respond to manipulation or to those that constantly strive.

It watches and waits for those that are patient and calm.
It feels into those souls who know how to make this life a psalm.

She knows those souls are worthy because they have the capacity to hold.
Somethings so very pure and so very ancient and old.

Some things need the delicate touch of only loving hands.
And those that have walked far and wide across many dimensions and lands.

She will give her treasure to those who do not intend to take.
But only those whose heart is so open that it is a portal and a gate.
